The Famous People from Subcarpathian Rus



The Famous People from Sabcarpathian Rus and from Carpathian region
They say that in some Jewish families living in the suburbs of New-York somewhere in the outskirts of Brooklyn or the Bronx, before the wedding planning take place, the parents can send their granddaughter to the very distant town of Rakhiv, to make a pilgrimage to the grave of her great-grandmother. The future bride lays on the ground a wedding invitation and kwantlen(the note), in which she asks for the blessings of her ancestors who rest in peace in the cemetery of Rakhiv.
How much do we know about the emmigrants from the Carpathian region who have achieved fame?
Do we know what the Carpathian region inspired in the descendants of those people who later became famous?
